Nunawading Vikings Basketball Club is a family oriented club which has been in operation for over 40 years. Its objective is to provide young people with the opportunity to enjoy the sport of basketball in a friendly family atmosphere in teams commensurate with their ability.

The club's 2 court stadium is located at Slater Reserve, North Blackburn. Teams compete in the Eastern District Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA), which covers an area from Collingwood in the west to Eltham in the north & Warrandyte in the east. Each Saturday roughly 50% of our games are at our home stadiums & most other stadiums are within half an hour travel time from our home courts.

Nunawading Vikings Basketball Club fields teams in both boys and girls from under 8's to under 20's. Each season around 80 teams are entered to cater for over 600 registered players of varying ages and abilities.

To prepare players for competition young children from 5 to 8 years old can participate in our Aussie Hoops Program which teaches them the basic skills of Basketball, rules & team play. This program is acknowledged as being outstanding in developing newcomers to the game. It is conducted each Tuesday night between 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

Nunawading Vikings Basketball Club is administered by a committee elected annually and coaches are drawn from older players, parents & other persons interested in the sport. All persons wishing to coach undertake an Accredited Level 1 Coaches Course conducted by Basketball Victoria. Adult coaches are subject to a Working with Children Check. The club is run almost entirely by volunteers.

Nunawading Vikings Basketball Club policy is for all players, as far as practicable, to have equal court time. Naturally this is not always possible e.g on court injury, late arrival, need for counselling by coach ,etc

Nunawading Vikings Basketball Club welcomes enquiries from anyone wishing to join a friendly well organised family club.
